Introduction
a) MM Electrical and Design Ltd recognises the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2013. The overall responsibility of the
Social Value Policy lies with the Proprietor, Mickele Maytil. It will also be any individual’s responsibility to ensure they
meet the company’s policy expectations throughout their employment process.
b) MM Electrical and Design Ltd recognises and accepts its responsibilities to:
i. Create social, economic, and environmental benefits through its operational activities
ii. Ensure diversity, equality and inclusion are prevalent
iii. Ensure discrimination and harrassment are not tolerated, and are reported and dealt with accordingly -
Social Value Targets
a) Meet and, where appropriate, exceed the requirements of current and future relevant legislation
b) Remove barriers to employment in the electrical industry for underrepresented and disadvantaged groups
c) Procure goods and services locally, where possible
d) Work with education and training providers, industry bodies and charities to offer apprenticeship support and work
experience opportunities
e) Support employees to live healthier lives
f) Ensure resources are used efficiently to reduce waste and maximise value -
Proprietor’s Duties
a) The Proprietor takes responsibility for the environmental impact throughout the company to protect the natural
environment and that affected by the Business’ operations, one will:
i. Be aware of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2013
ii. Ensure that social value factors are incorporated into business decisions
iii. Ensure that employees receive sufficient information and training
iv. Ensure the Business’ social value impact is monitored and act if there are any issues
v. Ensure that there is sufficient paperwork to comply with relevant statutory obligations
This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated if there is any change in circumstance or Law.
