Social Value Policy

 

  1. Introduction
    a) The overall responsibility of health and safety lies with the Proprietor, Mickele Maytil. It will also be the individual’s
       responsibility to ensure their own safety when completing work and that of any customers/clients
    b) MM Electrical and Design Ltd recognises and accepts its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act
        1974, including the responsibility to:
        i. Secure the health, safety and welfare of persons at work
        ii. Protect persons, other than persons at work, against risks to health or safety arising out of or in connection with the
            activities of persons at work
        iii. Control the keeping and use of dangerous substances
        iv. Provide information, instruction, training, maintenance and supervision as is necessary to ensure health and safety          of employees

  2. General Health and Safety
    a) The Proprietor is responsible for maintaining the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work
        Regulations 1999 and other Regulations that apply to the work activities
    b) The Proprietor will aim for the highest possible standards of health and safety
    c) The Proprietor will ensure assessments of all areas of work where activities are carried out in order to identify
        hazards and control the risk of any potential injury, disease or incident (HACCP)
    d) The Proprietor is responsible for any work that is completed to not adversely affect any persons, including other
        companies or members of the public
    e) The Proprietor will ensure that a satisfactory inspection is obtained to meet these objectives

  3. Proprietor’s Duties
    a) The Proprietor takes responsibility for the health, safety and welfare throughout the company to protect the health and safety of oneself and others affected by the Business’ operations, one will:
        i. Ensure the Business’ health and safety is monitored and act if there are any issues
        ii. Ensure there is sufficient welfare facilities accessible at all workplaces
        iii. Ensure that there is sufficient paperwork to comply with relevant statutory obligations
        iv. Be aware of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Approved Codes of Practice
        v. Ensure that the hazards and risks associated with work will be maintained with the precautions required t minimise 
            and control those risks
        vi. Ensure that employees receive sufficient information and training to perform their duties safely and effectively
        vii. Consider the prospective workload and employee’s capabilities to provide adequate safety
        viii. Ensure that adequate risk assessments are carried out on any hazardous areas and proper control measures are
              put into place to minimise any risk
     

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated if there is any change in circumstance or Law.
